This unit provides an introduction to the key concepts of public health ethics. It provides an opportunity for students to apply these concepts to a range of public health issues. Students undertake a critical analysis of preventive health interventions by governments or government sponsored agencies. They are introduced to common frameworks for the justification or critique of government intervention in the lives of private citizens. Students also undertake an examination of the extent to which individuals or groups in a society have a responsibility for the health of other members of society. -- Course Website
